Jasper, AB Wildlife & Landscape Sept, 2024
Jasper Fall Wildlife/Landscapes
Sept 7th - Sept 13th, 2024 (Full)
(arrive hotel afternoon on the 7th, workshop begins before sunrise 8th and ends at sunset on the 12th, depart 13th).
Join Canon EOL Master photographer Charles Glatzer for a 5-day, in-the-field Workshop. Our primary focus will be on photographing the elk, bighorn sheep, coyote, moose, pika, and the spectacular landscapes. Additional species have included wolf, pine martin, marmot, muskrat, beaver, mule deer, and bear among others.
This will be our 12th year in Jasper and we know all the best locations for wildlife. Jasper offers scenic wilderness surroundings of unparalleled beauty. Jasper National Park is Canada’s largest Rocky Mountain Park and one of North America’s largest natural areas – spanning 10,878 sq. km (4,200 sq. mi.) of awe-inspiring scenic splendor. Shimmering glaciers, abundant wildlife as well as crystal clear lakes, thundering waterfalls, deep canyons and evergreen forest surrounded by towering, rugged mountain peaks are what your eyes have been waiting to see.
Jasper will satisfy the needs of the most discriminating large mammal and landscape photographer, but if your interested there’s great food, shopping, etc. nearby. Edmonton is the closest city to Jasper NP and the best place to fly in and out. There are small commuter aircraft services available that fly near Jasper NP, but I don’t think it’s worth the effort. The drive from the airport to Jasper is about 3.5 hours or 210 miles. Jasper National Park is located 370 km west of Edmonton along Highway 16 and 404 km northwest of Calgary via the Trans-Canada Highway 1 and the Icefields Parkway (Highway 93). The town of Jasper is located in the middle of the park. Vancouver and Edmonton have regular bus and train service to Jasper.
