Homer
remains the best place in the world to capture dramatic close-up and
in-flight images of eagles. This
will be our 5th year in Homer, and we once again look forward to seeing
our friend Jean and the eagles. STL has a mutually
respectful relationship with Jean, Land's End, and the Homer community.
Additional days before
or after the workshop are available for A
Day in Field one-on-one instruction.

Join host Award-winning
Master photographer Charles Glatzer for a 5-day in-the-field Workshop
photographing the eagles of Homer, AK. March typically has
the best weather and the longer daylight hours provide more opportunity.
Take this opportunity to photograph first
hand one of nature's most spectacular birds. Hundreds of eagles congregate
here in the winter months, allowing us to photograph dramatic in-flight
images, close-up portraits, spectacular silhouettes, as well as variety
of behaviors both on and off the ground. Additional target species
to include; long-tailed and golden eye ducks, sea otter, and moose.
We plan on photographing otters via chartered boat (weather permitting).
| This
workshop is for those who
want to learn to shoot images in all climatic
conditions that are a cut above, unique, and with Visual Impact.
Utilizing state of the art digital equipment, Charles will show
all the techniques used to produce the images in real time,
with in-field assessment of metering theory and compensation,
composition, fill flash, DOF, etc.
* Instruction will include Advanced Metering, Flash,
Postproduction and Visual Skill techniques. These techniques
will eliminate the variables, providing more consistent and
predictable results. Daily critique sessions and advanced lesson
plans will greatly add to the learning environment. LR2 and
CS4 software will be presented.
To ensure the best instruction
possible each workshop will have a maximum of 12 participants.
We will be staying at Land's End, within walking distance of
the eagles. This also makes it convenient for when the cold
might get the better of us.The eagles are abundant and you can
even shoot them off the hotel grounds. Flights from Anchorage
to Homer (ERA) are readily available.
