Ultimate Brown Bears, Silver Salmon Lodge, Lake Clark NP
July 21st-July 27th, '09

arrive 21st, depart 27th

Lake Clark National Park is a relatively new park with untapped potential for professional and amateur photographers alike. The idyllic salt water bays and grassy meadows of its coastline harbor some of Alaska's most fascinating wildlife.

Join Award winning Master photographer Charles Glatzer, for an unparalleled photographic encounter with Alaska's brown bears.

Having hosted almost 50 bear workshops to date Chas extensive knowledge of bear (black, brown, polar) behavior translates into better imagery for the participant. The little things often make the greatest difference.

This STL workshop is for advanced photographers who want to photograph coastal brown bears, and other wildlife in a remote wilderness area away from crowds. Our primary goal is to photograph brown bears feeding on salmon within a variety of backgrounds. Natural behavior can frequently be photographed at close range. Our small group and private access allows us to make the most of each wildlife encounter. Unlike other facilities and camps, we have the luxury of staying on location for extended periods without the pressure of crowds, away from any man made structures. Daily review of images via a laptop computer, and photo instruction along with post-production and PhotoShop techniques will be discussed at length.

"Shoot the Light" Photographic Instructional Workshops are designed to enhance your visionary skills, as well as your technical execution. Special emphasis is placed on creating images with Visual Impact. Increase your proficiency while using compositional elements and light to design in-camera images that are a cut above. Every Instructional Photographic Workshop has but one goal offering the participant the most education for the dollar. Planned by a photographer for photographers, each is unique, dedicated to bringing you only the finest in photographic instruction. All photography workshops now employ state of the art digital photography technology, allowing real time, in-field assessment of metering theory and compensation, composition, fill flash, DOF, etc.

Brown bear are very active at Lake Clark NP. Bears are the stars of this wilderness stage, with fox, sea otter, puffin, seal, and even an occasional moose in their respective supporting roles.
