My photography workshops are a comprehensive series of Instructional Photographic Workshops designed to enhance your visionary skills, as well as your technical execution. Special emphasis is placed on creating images with Visual Impact. Increase your proficiency while using creative tecniques, compositional elements and light to design in-camera images that are a cut above. Charles will share the techniques that have garnered him over 40 state, national, and international awards. Expand your photographic horizons. Learn to "Shoot the Light".

Every Instructional Photographic Workshop has but one goal; offering the participant the most education for the dollar. Planned by a photographer for photographers, each is unique, dedicated to bringing you only the finest in photographic instruction.

All photography workshops employ state of the art digital photography instruction, allowing real time, in-field assessment of metering theory and compensation, composition, fill flash, DOF, etc. Providing the most education for your dollar is paramount. There is no better, more effective means available - seeing is believing!

The 2009 schedule with new and exciting venues it is sure to please even the most discerning bird and mammal photographer. We look forward to your participation!

We have hosted hundreds of wildlife workshops around the world. Chas has lead over forty bear (black, brown, polar) workshops to date, and his extensive knowledge of bear and wildlife behavior translates into better imagery for the participant. Knowing what to expect and look for ahead of time can often make the difference between capturing a mediocre image and the photo of a lifetime.

Jan 31-Feb 14th; Falkland Is.. (FULL)
Our itinerary has been custom tailored for photographing both marine wildlife and birds. This one is not to be missed with at least 4 species of penguins-king, magellenic, rockhopper and gentoo, as well as black-browed albatross, striated caracara, king and rock cormorants and many other shorebirds, seabirds and passerines. We will also have the opportunity to photograph elephant seals and Southern sea lions. Includes, weather permitting West Point. Jason Islands also available. Contact us for additional details. Space is limited to 7 participants.

Feb 22nd-March 1st, March 1st -8th ; Yellowstone in Winter (2-sessions)- (FULL)
A highlight every year. Join us as we travel through the interior of majestic Yellowstone National Park at the peak of the winter season, spending 12 hours a field each day for eight glorious days and 7 nights photographing big game wildlife and scenic wonders via our privately chartered Snow Coach and van in Lamar Valley.
Join us for one or both sessions. Space is limited to 6 participants.

March 13th-17th (FULL), 18th-22nd (FULL) Eagles of Homer, AK
Homer remains the best place in the world to capture dramatic close-up portraits and in-flight images of eagles. This will be our 5th year in Homer, and we once again look forward to seeing our friend Jean and the eagles. Do not miss this last chance opportunity.
Additional species photographed included, long-tailed duck, red-breasted merganser, barrow's goldeneye, northern hawk owl, rosy finch, moose and more

May 1st-4th ; STL Tech Series, St Augustine, FL - ( FULL )
This Advanced Series of metering, flash, post-production and visual design workshops are for those photographers who wish to take their imagery to the next level. This series will consist of both classrom and in-field instruction. Note-
This one is a highlight each year and always fills quickly.

May 15-18th (FULL) , 19-22nd (FULL); Black Bear w/ spring cubs-
A most unforgettable workshop and experience, providing theparticipant with excellent opportunities to photograph wild black bears with spring cubs, yearlings, and outstanding behavioral imagery. This will be our 15th visit, and once again, we will have the sanctuary completely to ourselves Space is limited to 5 participants.

June 4-6th (FULL) , June 8-10th (FULL); Loons and More
Loons w/ newly hatched chicks riding on moms back are the highlight. This is our 6th year with loons, knowing their behavior translates into better imagery. Additional species may include sora, bittern, barred owl, frogs, turtles, snakes and feeder birds. This extraordinary workshop is highly productive. Our custom modified pontoon boat and habituated loon pairs w/ chicks offer incredible photographic opportunities.
June 12-14th -special session limited to 4 participants (FULL)

June 27th "Light Illuminates, Shadow Defines"
GNPA , Roswell, GA.- A Full Day Program Designed to Enhance Both Your Technical Ability and Visual Sense. This will be the most informative one-day photo seminar you have ever attended. ***JUST ANNOUNCED July 12-19/20th: AK Brown Bears with Walrus Extension (FULL)
Th
is will be unlike any other bear workshop you have ever attended. Remote brown bears, evening safari camp, day at Brook's Falls, and Walrus. Additional species should include moose, eagle, osprey, and more. Contact us for additional details.

Aug 16-23th; Coastal Brown Bear Workshop, Katmai, AK (only 3spaces left)
Brown bears and more, spectacular scenery and wonderful memories are just a part of this extraordinary workshop. Kodiak boat charter for puffins, whales and more is also available on the 15th. Participation is limited to 6. This is a highly productive workshop.

Sept 10-14th Jasper, AB Canada; (1 space available)
Our primary focus will be on photographing the elk rut, aong with coyote, bighorn sheep, and moose. Additional species may include deer, wolves, pine martin, bear, marmot, and pica.. Awe inspiring landscapes exist around every corner. We have hosted here many times and know all the best spots for wildlife. This is always a highly productive workshop and it fills quickly.

Sept 20-27 -The Spirit Bears of the Great Bear Rainforest, BC (FULL)
'08 was so amazing and productive I have choosen to do this workshops again. Using our exquisitely maintained 71 ft sailing vessel as a base we explore salmon creeks and rivers in Coastal BC to photograph the Spirit Bear and the Coastal Grizzly Bear. The photographic opportunities are amazing, and should include Spirit Bears, black bears, grizzly and possibly wolves. This trip will give you access to some of the best bear viewing locations in the world! The fall is a time of plenty and marine mammals such as the humpback whale are a common sight. ***JUST ANNOUNCED Oct 16, 17, 18, 19- Technical Workshop Series Brevard, NC - (Filling Fast)
This series of metering, flash, post-production and visual design workshops are for those photographers who wish to take their imagery to the next level. This series will consist of both classrom and in-field instruction. We have timed this workshop to make the most of the Appalachian Mtn Fall Color. The Blue Ridge Parkway is only minutes away from our location, providing Spectacular mtn sunrise/sunset views. We will visit many beautiful waterfalls located close to our hotel. Note-

STL is proud to offer a truly amazing journey through the countryside of Japan! Enjoy 11 days of beautiful Japanese countryside and photographic opportunities! Photograph the Snow Monkey's, Stellar Eagles, Blakiston's Fish Owls, Japanese Cranes and more. Participation is limited to ten.

Predation at this time of year is high.
Late Winter/Early Spring is a terrific time to travel through the interior of majestic Yellowstone National Park and Lamar valley to photograph wildlife in Yellowstone. Wolves, grizzly, coyote, and elk and bison with calves will be our primary target species. Space limited to 6 participants. Contact us for additional details.

July 12-19 - ALASKA PENNINSULA Brown Bears with Walrus Extension
